last night...

I really hate this net connection. Dial-up. It hassles me so much. It's too slow. I wanna get DSL! :(
Currently, I am opening my e-mail (it is still in its all-white stage which basically means it needs more time to load. I am writing this blog to pass the time. Even Blogger, on the other tab, seems to be also slow to load. Ha! Now my mail is almost opened (2 more minutes to go) yay! The blogger webpage is also having some problems in its display. All the texts are in TNR (i.e. Times New Roman). The graphics are replaced by white rectangles with icons of torn paper on it upper left side. DAMN! Even blogger is now glitching. What the f*** is the problem?! Now blogger can't open at all. Forefox says it's done loading the page but all I can see is plain white. Fuck!
Surfing for porn is a more exciting activity. Definitely.

We again thank the whole Loyola Schools community for rising up to the challenge of supporting the Sumilao farmers' campaign for social justice!

The battle is not over yet so we hope that our support will not diminish even as they return to their families and continue the fight from there.

We will continue to update the Loyola Schools Community on this case through email blasts as information is made available to us. Watch out for the information board that will be set-up at the MVP lobby and the Sumilao Weekly email blast to monitor this issue.

Merry Christmas and God bless us all.

pisayPO 2008

pisayPO (short for "Philippine Science High School Programming Olympiad" is one of the projects I've been trying to put up since 2005, together with the faculty of the PSHS CS Unit. Hopefully, this year we'll be able to launch the first-ever inter-school competition related to pisayPO. So please help us in this cause! Thanks!
Please forward this email to your friends in high school..they might be interested in this :D

Btw, pisay main students are excluded from this. So forward this to your non-pisay HS friends :D

December 23, 2007

Greetings!

We are the Philippine Science High School – Main Campus. We are proud to bring to you “pisayPO 2008,” or the Philippine Science High School Programming Olympiad.

The Olympiad aims to promote an appreciation for computer programming among high school students. It also aims to promote camaraderie and friendship among the participants, which in the long run can lead to healthy intellectual exchange. As with all other competitions, the Olympiad ultimately aims to bring out the best in its participants.

Also, the Olympiad wants to recognize students with high potential in the field of computer programming. It is envisioned in the coming years that the pisayPO will serve as our country’s national eliminations for the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). Thus, in two or three years, winners of the pisayPO will be trained and sent to the IOI.

The International Olympiad in Informatics in an annual computer programming competition that brings together the best high school student programmers and coaches from all over the world.

The pisayPO, recognizing our country’s potential to capitalize on the IT industry, wants to send the best students to the IOI. In this way, we can encourage a development of the computer science education in our country which, in the long run, will bring us closer to our potential as capitalists of the IT industry.

We wish to invite your students to participate to this first-time event. Your school may form a maximum of two teams, two members each team. Reservation of contest slots will be on a first-come-first served basis; only 30 teams will be accepted.

Teams who will participate to the Olympiad will be given ten (10) programming tasks of varying difficulty (and varying score merits). Teams earn score merits by submitting a program (or source code) that correctly solves a particular task. The team with the most score merits after two (2) hours wins the Olympiad.

For more information regarding the Olympiad, please follow this link.

Once again, we invite you to join pisayPO. Thank you and God bless!

Respectfully yours,

Maria Luisa Capundag

It makes me sick

Hello... My vacation officially started 4:30pm last Dec 21. From that day onwards I have been playing computer games for an average of 6 hours a day. Warcraft III (specifically DoTA) and Diablo II: Lore of Terror (expansion pack). I can't defeat Andariel though. That's the Act I boss. I'm currently using a Paladin, which I named "Palladium".

Primary weapon: Gemmed (3 chipped emeralds) Superior Large Axe. Besides its basic 2-hand damage it also deals 53 poison damage. Fast.

Secondary Weapon: Iron Scimitar. 5% life steal. 1-6 lightning damage. Very Fast. + Gemmed (3 chipped diamonds) Targe (i.e.shield). 24 to all resistances.

I also previously used a sorceress, named "Qwerty" (I forgot what level) which ended up getting killed by Andariel. The other hero I used is a druid ("Themaster") which is currently in level 23. However, I can't defeat Duriel (Act II boss?) using this character.

My dad brought home a little less than a case of light beer. Damn, I thought I was good. I drank a bottle (which unbelievably to btter for my taste!) and finished it with difficulty.

I have been to busy with Diablo II that I am somewhat neglecting DoTA. I recently tried (due to my friend's advice) Lich King. At home, I successfully downloaded v6.48b (the supposedly, most recent stable release). Check it out here. I successfully played the map unlike previous attempts when I just downloaded the map without the patch. I used Pit Lord. Spells: Firestorm? (I'm not sure about the name), Pit of Malice, Expulsion and Dark Rift.

Firestorm: Rocks with flaming tails fall out of the sky. Deals Damage.

Pit of Malice: Statues form a circle where all enemies inside it can not move.
Expulsion: exploding corpses?

Dark Rift: Can teleport to a targeted unit or structure. Structure must be of allies.
Items: (I cheated on this one). Divine Rapier, Mekansm, Guinsoo's Scythe of Vise, Boots of Speed. I forgot the others. Divine Rapire: 250 damage additional. Guinsoo: Hex (Can turn enemy units into chickens, sheep, etc. They can;t move while in Hex). Boots of Speed (similar to Dark Rift). Mekansm (heals 250 life). Has an area of effect. BTW: this is my crush's site. And this is my friend's (which I want to be my girlfriend) site.

So why now?

Actually, this blog is an experimental one. After I failed to remember the password of my old blogspot/blogger account, I decided to try and make another one...And it really works.

I am supposed to come today at a drinking session (at Drews in Katipunan) but I have been thinking lately of changing my lifestyle. I am doing things that I am not supposed to do. I drink alcohol (though I haven't been drunk for the last 2 months) and I have been smoking a lot--I don't want my parents to know that I am smoking because they would surely not approve of it. My grandpa (on my father's side) was a heavy smoker. He didn't die due to lung cancer though.
If I remember correctly, statistics show that only 5% of smokers die due to lung cancer. So last week, I don't really remember how many sticks I've consumed (4 maybe?). But I want to stop. It is not good for my health or my future career. Don't ask what it is. If I'm gonna tell you, i would be a real hypocrite. So should I go to the drinking sessions?

Good thing though, that today is my Christmas Break. It began just an hour ago. My last requirement was analysis of 2 poems for Literature 13. Too bad, I have one of my cold spells today. Cold as in the "virus." I really wish I could talk to my crush now and court her. But of course, since this is still vacation, I have to satisfy myself by chatting with her in YM. Why the hell did God created such a thing as the rhinovirus?
